if you dont like the scenes with Nate Snr (played by the wonderful Richard Jenkins i think his name is) then you won't like much of Season 1....or indeed season 2 as hes in it quite alot.
he hasnt shown up much in Season 3, buts he instrumental in the first seaosn especially.
i lvoe the season 1 epside called THe Room where Nate finds his dads secret room, its a cool one. dig watching nate Snr dance to Amboy Dukes.

When Claire started to cry during Ruth's and George's nuptials, I started to chuckle...but then it became obvious that she wasn't crying tears of joy. Powerful stuff.

Dude, MOST media is the tool of the man. Not just reality TV. (John Fiske and Theodor Adorno offer interesting pro and con arguments regarding who in fact owns popular culture).
I am still not sure on that. They could be throwing us off the scent until a later date... but he could very well be a plain nice guy.

Boy, I hope he's not a con artist. I think he's just swell!
Golly, why don't folks use language like this here? If I have one criticism of Australia (and I don't, I have several), it's that we don't use the word swell as an adjective (though folks'd be nice too). Just once I'd like to have a conversation that went down something like this:
Friend: James! How the hell are ya, anyway? Me: Oh, swell, swell, I guess! Better then some folks anyhow!
I should just go live in America for a while. Preferrably 1950s America. Maybe I've just read Catcher in the Rye too many times; after all, I have been forming a plot on John Lennon's life...
Doin' just swell, James [Thanks for askin' - how the hell are you/i]?]
