Do you think I should wait until the DVD comes out so I can catch up or will I be able to jump right into it? A bit too late to jump right into it. It's the season finale next Monday night. As I mentioned before, the Internet is your best bet. I love Queer Eye too. Good thing for me it's on at a completely different time to Six Feet Under. You clown.

You know, sometimes I really worry about you... I used to watch bad tv all the time too. You grow out of it. Hahahaha. What's not to love about trashy reality tv? I can't wait for Big Brother 4. Where's Natalie to back me up on the joys of reality tv?

Hahahaha. What's not to love about trashy reality tv? Since I am sad I've actually spent some time thinking about this. After all, most tv is pointless anyway so that shouldn't be what disgusts me at the root of it. I mean, who cares if it's shit as long as it's entertaining, right? Why not care about real people on games shows in the same way you care about characters in fiction? I think my utter disdain for so-called reality tv is a combination of a few things: the motivation behind the shows, the way they're promoted and the way they're packaged.

lmao, Harvey I'm like as radical as they come. I'm pro gay marriage, pro gay parenting and pro experimentation (for those that choose so) and sure as hell my comment was pertaining to pregnancy/abortion. Bah you. Gemma, you have to, have to, have to, watch Six Feet Under! I can't say for myself as I watched it from episode one but I got my sister watching mid way through. As for Reality TV, you name it I watch it (Excluding game shows like Wheel of Fortune) and I don't believe I am any less intelligent for it. If you look critically at the media you are watching then there shouldn't be a problem. People that bash Reality TV are usually 'media snobs' I also did a semester of Media Studies where we studied reality television amongst other things as you can imagine there was much Reality TV bashing.

Well, that's it, then.
What did everybody think?
*SPOILERS BELOW*
- - - - -
I was saddened to hear that Lisa had died, but... well, i think we all knew that was coming. I just find it hard dealing with things that have that much... finality. Is that a word? Anyway, I like Justin Theroux's character. I really doubt that George is a con-artist, as we may have speculated. He's too honest and sincere. David and Keith, well, who knows what's gonna happen there. I'm guessing that Rico and Vanessa are gonna be splitting at some stage next season. And the whole thing with Claire in the cemetery was a bit overly strange; I didn't really like that her baby was there too, it seemed kinda heavy-handed. But, hey, it's a heavy show.
- - - - -
Now we've just gotta wait til next year. I think they started filming in November. But we'll probably hafta wait til about August again. I blame the Sopranos! Maybe I'd find it easier to take if I watched that show more.
Man. I'm so bummed that it's over.
Typing with heavy hands, James [I'm sorry, I'm lost...]

last nights ep was really great....probably the best Six Feet Under ive seen. I was a bit disappointed with it... but then I don't really know the history of the characters like you guys. Have they ever talked to the dead father before? Does anyone else think that the creepy serial killer Oliver guy killed Lisa?

I was a bit disappointed with it... but then I don't really know the history of the characters like you guys. Have they ever talked to the dead father before? Conversations with Nathanial Fisher Sr. were a big part of the first season. The family were at a time when they were still dealing with their father's death, and his 'appearances' allowed for insight into a character's most honest thoughts; at this stage in the show, everyone in the family was very distant and withdrawn from each other, and there was no other forum to honestly express their emotions. You can pretty much view them as a sort of inner dialogue, where the characters might be debating something in their head, and their father is the voice of opposition. Another brilliant aspect of the show (though, I'm sure, it's probably been done before - I think they did something like that in Providence with the main character's dead mother, but not anywhere as well-done.) No, I think that was just Nate's own speculations. The serial killer's appearance at the start was convenient to illustrate's Nate's theories on what might've happened. I'm not sure if we'll ever find out. Enjoying this external dialogue, James ("I'm out there, Jerry, and I'm lovin' every minute of it!"
