I said I thought it was an interesting casting choice because they were a real-life couple. I think her acting in it is laughable at times. Many times. oh right....yeah, im sure there are many rea life actor couples who could have done a better job though. and yeah i agree her acting is laughable. whats annoying is on the DVD she keeps saying how her greatest fear is that Kubrick would fire her, if only he did.

HOLLYWOOD ENDING 6/10
One of Woody Allen's worst films but still I found it watchable. Perhaps its ironic that the ending of this movie is such a missed opportunity. In my opinion when the studio exec hears about Woody's blindness he should of jumped on the marketing opportunity it provided. "The First movie directed by a blind man!" The film could have been a novelty hit and youd have a less self referential, more satisfying ending than the one thats in there where the french love his movie.
ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND 10/10
I love this film, i think it deserves to be placed with 2001 and Blade Runner as one of the few really good science fiction movies. Michel Gondry more than makes up for the mediocre Human Nature and this is by far the best of the Kaufman scripted movies.
I love everything about it. Who would have thought Jim Carrey and Kate WInslet went so well together?
SOMERSAULT 9/10
You will either love or hate this film. It is slow and nothing much happens, certianly nothing "big" happens. But I loved it, I believed the character and I cared for her alot. It's a very feminine film, and I mean that in the best possible way. The early scenes where Heidi is walking around homeless, desperate to find any man to go home with just so she can have a roof over her head were scary.

I have a free ticket for the Palace I have to use soon and I was thinking about seeing this. Love or hate you say? That sounds promising -- I like it when films take risks. Did anyone else end up seeing this one?

HERO9.5/10 An amazing movie, the use of colour is something that everyone talks about but it so striking. My only criticism is that near the end there are a few too many slow motion shots of people crying over their lvoers. if youve seen the movie youll know what i mean. but thats only a minor gripe. Its vaguely ridiculous that it was only released with Tarantino's endorsement, but it is a bit Tarantino-esque, very much a "movie-movie". I loved it, and yeah there are some communist overtones but when its looks this good and the story si so intrigueing, who cares! Yes it was a little heavy on the slow motion, even during the fight scenes, but there are some terrifically staged sequences in there. I don't think it quite nailed what it was trying to do, but I think it's well worth seeing and there's SO much that works SO well and it's such a "big screen"-type film, I'd say give it a go for sure. I really think it could have been a better film if they eased up on the wire-work though. I mean don't drop the wires altogether, but they are over-used a few too many times...

Lovely And Amazing is on SBS tonight, 8:30pm. Like Somersault you'll either love or hate this movie. I quite enjoyed it...and not just because Jake Gyllenhaal is in it.

Lovely And Amazing is on SBS tonight, 8:30pm. Like Somersault you'll either love or hate this movie. I quite enjoyed it...and not just because Jake Gyllenhaal is in it. yeah i was thinking of watching cause Catherine Keener is in it and i havent seen her in anything outside of Being John Malkovich. didnt know Jake was in it. i dont know if it takes many risks (although not being a crappy comedy is a risk for an Aussie film), its just that many people find it very slow, uneventful and boring. it all hinges on whether you like the Heidi character and care about her. There are scenes of her just wlaking around looking at things, nothing much happens but i like them because although Heidi is going out getting drunk and stoned, having sex with men, all these grown up things, these scenes show that in many ways she is still just a child. hell yeah, it isn't perfect but the good bits more than make up for the bad bits. that fight scene in the watery chess hall is just amazing. apparently the guy who directed the visual fx for hero was the same who did them for Shaolin Soccer.

MASKED AND ANONYMOUS - www.imdb.com/title/tt0319829/7.5/10 I had read only bad things about this movie, but I liked it but probably only because I love Dylan so much. The film is set in some war torn south american country, partly fictional. The "story" concerns a benefit concert where they get Dylan to play. Its a silly film in some ways but it has some great dialogue and excellent voice voers by Dylan. And some weird remixes of his songs....quite strange. Put it this way, if you like/love Dylan and know his history then you should get a kick out of this, but if you dont like him then don't bother.

Bandits was a boring film.
THE "CHANEL no. 5" MOVIE -5/10
Anyone waiting for Six Feet Under last night had to sit through this pretentious trash. Baz Lrrrrrrman is stretching a small amount of talent a very long way. I loved how the "making of" this "film" was 10 times longer than the actual film, and when they finally showed it (cutting 15 minutes into Six feet Under) it had to be one of the biggest pieces of shit ive ever seen. Nicole Kidman sucks, Baz Lrrrman sucks worse.

I just finished watching Ichi the Killer finally, and i must say, i am rather quite impressed! Splash, if Battle Royale didn't fulfill your bloodlust, I'm sure this will.

have you seen the animation? i saw that first so it made the film a lot clearer because it does tend to silence quite a bit of the back story

Didn't think much of Ichi, but if it doesn't satisfy Splash's bloodlust then I fear nothing will. Ooooooh, I'll have to seek it out. Thanks!

Billy Bob is hot.
Yeah, I watched it while incapacitated.
What a disgusting waste of money, spent on the ever important joy of cosmetics and clothes. I wish Baz would take that Chanel No.5 diamond thing that was hanging from Nicole's dress and hang himself with it, or at least strangle himself until he realises that the ad is a total copy of Moulin Rouge, nothing new.

SOME LIKE IT HOT 8/10
I'd been lead to believe that this would be the funniest movie of all time and although it has alot of chuckles I have seen funnier. That said it is a great movie. Probably the only "people in drag, on the run from the mob" movies I've ever enjoyed.
i think that was the point, apparently that piece of shit movie is popular amongst the glitterazzi and "fabulously" wealthy.
