What is this? A meeting of the Stanley Kubrick Appreciation Society? Not really. It just seems like that some days.

Carry on Children? I think I've seen almost all the Carry On... movies, but I don't remember that one. This is the Carry On... Appreciation Society, right?

Carry On Dick (1974). Isn't that your favourite Carry On film, Splash? No, Carry On Up the Jungle is probably the best one. I might go watch it now and fall asleep.

COLLATERAL 8/10
Have you ever wondered what would happen if Michael Mann directed an episode of 24? This movie is in semi-real time, lots of twists and turns and was very 24-ish.
In the hands of another director this would just another thriller you don't want to see, but I really liked this movie. the only problem i had with it, is that is about 10 to 15 minutes too long (like most movies these days). There's a shootout scene in a nightclub that runs about 5 minutes and it realy only needs to be about 30 seconds.
THE WORK OF DIRECTOR: Michel Gondry - DVD 9.5/10
Out of all the WOD series I like this guy the most. Cunningham is great but Ive seen his videos far too many times to want to buy the dvd and I've never really liked Spike Jonze's videos. Gondry is a genius and this DVD is a must. The dvd menus are the coolest ever, there are some awesome short movies (Drumb and Drumber!) and you find out how he shot that Kylie Minogue video (its so simple!)
One of those DVD's youll be watching heaps. Well I will be anyway. That Rolling Stones video is the most trippy thing ive ever seen.

This ending works for this film. It sorta reminded me of the ending to The Player. Not all films have to build the same way, that's McKee talking *slap*. I mean, look at how cool Full Metal Jacket is: the first half is killer, but the last half puts it all in perspective and makes the film. i havent seen FMJ. I loved The Player and it had a kick arse ending. I just didn't like the ending to Adaptation, it just doesnt work for me. if anything, the ending of Adaptation is the most conventional part of the movie with Ms Streep getting all weepy and the brother dying.

MULLET 8/10
Finally an Australian movie about country people that don't show them off as eccentric, loveable loons or dangerous rednecks.
Better than I thought it was going to be.
