oh yeah watching tv alone in the dark is the only way to do it
its fun and communal in the sense that you are doing the same thing as certain specific other people you don't even know
ed. im too scared to sleep now after watching it

i guess buit i find it hard to think that.
a good quote :
"the tragedy of television is that a million people can laugh at the same joke at the same time, and still feel lonely"

Sooooo, what's the verdict so far, people?
Personally, I'm lovin' the Carnivàle. I hope the ABC picks up the second season.

i realy enjoyed it - found it a little slow at points but that is understandable for the first ep. can't wait till next week!

i agree re. Nick Stahl. half kindof freaks me out half makes me want to jump him.
the pilot was beautiful. i love that david lynch midget. he is the perfect anchor for the weirdness of the other characters the second episode really scared me...the foetus coming alive and all

Ah, a classic example of why I should be one here more often. I was caught unawares last night when I turned on the Auntie only to find Samson telling Jonesy and the rest of the carnies to cut Hawkins loose an' get to bed, cause we're headin' south where it'll be hotter'n Hades.
This show is really slow - I'll tell you that right now. But it's really great viewing nonetheless. Stick with it - it'll only take you 6 Sundays.
I'm gonna try and beat the ABC. I've watched up to and including episode 8. John Hannah fans, be watching week 3 (January 2nd) for what're probably my two favourite episodes.
And did everyone pick Jane Adams in the first ep? Cameo, sweet!

i refer to what i assume was the 'second' episode - the second hour of the first 2 hour 'episode' on the ABC
or is Carnivale produced in single 2 hour blocks?
and you saw correctly - the foetus blinked. IT HAD HAIR AS WELL

or is Carnivale produced in single 2 hour blocks? Like I said earlier to Mr Rocher, the ABC is screening back-to-back episodes. 5 more weeks remain til the end of the first series.
