Ah, Seth. How do I love thee?



So far, Seth's been in the film Donnie Darko and the TV series Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared. (But you already knew that.) He's also had a guest spot on Dawson's Creek.

What next for "the chunky guy with glasses"? And what else has happened in the past? Let's find out.

IMDb.com gives Seth's birthdate as 15 April, 1982, and says that he was born in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Ken on "Freaks and Geeks"

A four-year veteran of the stand-up comedy circuit, Seth Rogen was cast in the role of Ken, the acerbic and rebellious freak who is always quick with a smart-aleck remark, after being discovered at an open casting call by "Freaks and Geeks" executive producer Judd Apatow and show creator Paul Feig. "Ken and I are the same person," says Rogen. "He's a little weird, no one can really read him, and he has a healthy dose of cynicism about everything."

A self-described "professional wise-ass," Rogen's interest in comedy began at age 13, when after driving his teachers and parents crazy, he signed up for a comedy class in his hometown, Vancouver, British Columbia. He took to it like a fish to water and quickly began writing his own material and appearing in Canadian comedy clubs like Yuk-Yuks, Punchlines, Lafflines and others. After coming in second place in the Vancouver Amateur Comedy Contest at the age of 16, Rogen decided to venture south of the border and try his hand at performing for U.S. audiences. He was well-received and began getting regular gigs at such high-profile Los Angeles clubs as The Improv and The Comedy Store. Earlier this year, Rogen was nominated for Canada's YTV Youth Achievement Awards for his stand-up comedy.

Rogen's first on-screen appearance came at age 11 when he started in commercials. After his comedy began to take off, he decided to try "the acting thing" again. He landed the role in "Freaks and Geeks" after only one previous audition.

Now living in Los Angeles while he works on the show, Rogen still plies his trade at local comedy clubs. In his spare time, he enjoys, snowboarding, Karate, rugby and improv. His birthday is April 15.

A stand-up comedian? Well there you go.

One more thing I thought I'd post quickly, from Fox's Undeclared site (the "Dean's Office").

I’ll tell you why I like writing. Because nobody really knows who wrote what. You don’t know who wrote this. Maybe I did. Well actually, no matter who wrote it, the fact that “I” did remains true. It’s who “I” is, that is the question. Well it is me. Seth. I wrote this. Especially if you think it’s funny. Then not only did I write this, I wrote it, like, really fast, and I totally wasn’t even trying hard when I wrote it. I was like, “hey, what should I do today? I only have a few minutes to kill, I won’t be able to do anything productive in that time.” Well, holy crap. Look at this. And I think it’s going pretty good. It seems funny, right? It’s not overwhelmingly not funny. That’s really all I can go for. It doesn’t really have to be hilarious, as long as it’s apparent that it’s not, like, horribly un-funny. That first part with the “I’s.” That’s kind of funny, right? I mean, like, it might not be the kind of funny where you’re at a party and you see a guy fall, and you all laugh and for years you can be like, “hey, remember when that guy fell at that party?” and then you all laugh again. It’s not that kind of funny. But, you know, it’s hard to get across that caliber humor in a short little thing like this. Right? I mean… Oh man. Oh man. Maybe it’s all stupid. Maybe it sucks. Maybe I can’t write. But who am “I”? I’ll tell you who I ain’t. Seth. Seth did not write this.
