Hi all,
I was going to start a topic about favourite episodes of F&G when it occurred to me that perhaps not everyone here has seen every episode...
I think I started watching it at about the 5th episode, not long before Channel 9 booted it out of the prime time 7.30 or 8pm timeslot.
I became hooked and managed to catch most of the midnight Friday night episodes...the episodes that I did miss were sent to me (for free) by an unbelievably nice guy in Qld who I contacted through the F&G forum...thanks Scott!
Which other sad souls have been waiting since 2001 for F&G to return??
And for the 'new' fans...how did you become hooked??

Hey how are you? I believe I have seen every episode. I did watch it the first time around too and loved it and was so happy to see it on again. Lucky I am still up at 2.00am most nights and discovered that they had started replaying it again. Wow 2001, really I never even realised it has been that long. I thought maybe I should tape the episodes this time round but then I thought well maybe I should just wait for the DVD set and then I thought well that could be forever but I already missed so many episodes I don't know if it will be worth me taping it now because I'll just get annoyed I don't have all the episodes. Does that make sense? yeah its late and im crazy. I'm more addicted this time around for sure.

I never bothered to watch the show when it started. It got promoted like some stupid, whacky, 80s revival, dorky parents, shit. I think the clips were mostly of Harold Weir talking about Hendrix. After twenty years of watching television you tend be sceptical of commercials that tout shows as being hilarious. Plus seeing as how Channel Nine gave F&G the exact same death slot NBC did (7:30 Saturdays) it was pretty easy for me to miss it. Fortunately the show performed really poorly and was booted from prime-time after only 3 weeks. Now if you manage to schedule a television program for 11pm on a weeknight, you can guarantee I'll at least catch some of it. (Star Trek, Buffy, Letterman, MAD tv all being good examples) Hell I'll even watch Walker Texas Ranger or a cooking infomercial late at night. So of course one night I'm surfing the stations (no cable btw) and I see Biff Tannen teaching a sex education class. Cool I check this out for a while. This kid's friend gets him in trouble and then Biff humiliates him in front of the class. It was a brilliant scene and I figured I may as well watch the whole show since there was nothing else on. I loved it and vowed to watch again the following week. "I'm With The Band" proved to be just as excellent so the next week I started taping the shows. I manged to record the rest of the series without fail. (Okay well somehow I missed "The Diary" entirely but apart from that) So yeah I've been a fan this whole time, but I never expected the show would return. I thought for sure we'd get Underclared before then at any rate. When I found out Freaks and Geeks was coming back I was excited to fill in the gaps in my collection. I'm taping every episode but I'll definately buy the DVD anyway if it happens.

In the eyes of a ranger, The unsuspecting stranger, Had better know the truth of wrong from right,
'Cause the eyes of a ranger are upon you, Any wrong you do, he's gonna see,
When you're in Texas, Look behind you,
'Cause that's where the ranger's gonna be.

I watch Letterman, Leno and Conan. I luv late night talk shows.
I also used to like Mad TV a bit. I haven't really got into Star Trek since TNG finished.
I moved house a few suburbs over and I used to get 9, 7, 10. Now I get NBN, Prime and Southern Cross Ten as my reception comes from Newcastle now instead of Sydney and it fucking drives me insane with infomercials. There was less of that before, I miss watching NBC Today early in the morning for the corniness factor now all I have is TVSN.
I have seen infomercials for Hunter Tylo and the Abswing, Victoria Principal and her eye cream and Chuck Norris and his Total Gym more times then I can stand.
Walker Texas Ranger, Damn that theme song is so catchy (and kitschy). You have got it suck in my head!
Maybe I'll tape the rest of the episodes and try and get the rest from somewhere and fill in the gaps... or wait another few years, which then I'll probably miss the first few episodes.

I only started watching when it was on late Friday nights, initially I liked it but it was only at the end of the series that I realised what a great show it was and how much I would miss watching it on a Friday night.
