Whoa... that is about the dodgiest sounding post I've ever heard on this board.
I didn't even know Guests could start threads.

Yeah, guests can post and so far we haven't had a problem with spam. If by some slim chance mister dvdtrader ever comes back to check this thread, please know that we are all awaiting the legitimate release of the show on DVD next year which we petitioned for. This board is for fans of the show and not a place to peddle one's wares.
(for those of you wondering what's going on, it seems we were boarded by a pirate so I deleted the post.)

Thanks for that, Splash. My little heart was going pitty-pat-pitty-pat when I read his post. Yikes. As soon as I read the phrase "Hello..." my skin actually crawled. Out the door, I think.
Truly you are a Dungeon Master.
Can we convert this into a thread for the actual Freaks and Geek DVD? I'm sure there already is one, and I know we can discuss this on the official board, but I hardly ever go there. Let's make the best of a bad situation!

Harvey, I like the combination of the Smiths lyrics and a pic of Milo - oddest combo ever.
And speaking of PKD, I've just started reading "Dr Bloodmoney". Dick has the best titles in the world. What's everyone reading at the moment anyway?

What's everyone reading at the moment anyway? Don't know about everyone else but I'm the type of person who reads more than one book at a time. So right now I'm reading... Stupid White Men by Michael Moore The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks Fences And Windows by Naomi Klein The Complete Stories by Franz Kafka And I'm still expecting more books in the mail. Aye curumba!

And speaking of PKD, I've just started reading "Dr Bloodmoney". Dick has the best titles in the world. Dick-wise, I've only ever read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? which I read because I loved the Blade Runner computer game so much. The book was pretty good, I guess. The game is still the best in the "series"... better than the movie, that's fer darn sure! I am tempted to read more, however. Discussion of one of his books in Richard Linklater's Waking Life has sparked interest in me. I'm reading a book of Frontline scripts which I found in my uni library. Very funny. I've also started reading Death Sentence: The Decay of Public Language by Don Watson, which examines the nuisance of big-worded language in society.

What's everyone reading at the moment anyway? yes the pic and the quote are not interelated... Dr Bloodmoney is good, but not my absolute fave PKD...i just finished a PKD book he wrote with Roger Zelazny called DEUS IRAE that is similar in tone to Bloodmoney.. are you a DickHead like me? ive got 20+ PKD books and Im always looking for more...hes fucking great. i just moved on to herman Hesse's Siddhartha. wasnt me. must of been Nat. damn ive got to see that movie. two of my favourite PKD books are: Time Out Of Joint - which I think The Truman Show well and truly ripped off...its got a similar premise but PKD takes it further. and The Game Players Of Titan - a bizarre book, but really damned cool. How do you commit murder when the cops can read your mind? the answer = AMNESIA!

i just moved on to herman Hesse's Siddhartha. I've read that. Good one, from what I can remember. Where in the sieg heil is she? Good luck with that. It's only been released on rental here in Oz, and the disc is bereft of features. I got my copy from the States, and the R1 release is loooooaded. It's not a film for everyone, but I thought it was dern good. Those other Dick titles sound cool; I'll try and get a hold of them. Have you played the Blade Runner game? It's fantastic... and Stephen Root has a little role too!

We're talking about "Waking Life", right? They just mentioned "Flow my tears, the policeman said" and the events surrounding it outlined by Dick in that essay "How to build a universe that doesn't fall apart two day later" (I think it was called that). I saw that movie on the big screen and it was so wobbly and dreamy... It's worth seeing but it's basically just an interesting excercise in marrying stlye to content. A movie about dreams that looks dreamy. Not much else there really but it's still fun.

The game is still the best in the "series"... better than the movie, that's fer darn sure! Ok. That's it. It's go time. You didn't like the movie?! Step out to the carpark. You guys have been warned about this sort of behaviour: dissing stunningly good movies will not be tolerated.
